1. Over 60% of the branches are long dead restricting sunlight and airflow, as well as offering a haven for vines
2. There are 2 very large and old vines growing along the root system of this tree and a large portion of the canopy you see is vine.

A web of small dead branches and thick vines are clogging up the inside of this tree and have been for decades
Vines entangled at the top, with the largest one being almost as thick as the tree

Now we have removed all of the dead branches and vines what we have left is healthy tree
This was achieved without taking off any living tissue except for some damage to the bark while removing vines
Clean cuts at the precise part of the base keeps your tree healthy
The only damage occured during this pruning was the slight surface peeling of the bark from the incredibly thick vine growing on it
